Czesław Lang
Born on 17th of May 1955 in Kołczygłowy (Słupsk region). As an amateur raced for Baszta Bytów (from 1970 till 1977, first coach Euzebiusz Marciniak) and Legia Warszawa (from 1977 till 1981). Took part in two Olympic Games. In Montreal (1976) came with 5th in Team 4km Pursuit on the track. In Moscow (1980) gained silver medal in road individual race. Won 9 Polish national titles in various specialities. Winner of the Tour de Pologne in 1980. Double medalist in Team Time Trial on 100 km: third in San Cristobal (1977) and second in Valkenburg (1979). Four times took part in the Peace Race – twice finishing it at 9th place.
Professional career (1982-1989)
Rode for: GIS-Olmo, Carrera, Del Tongo-Colnago and Malvor-Sidi-Colnago. Took part in 8 editions of the Giro d’Italia and 3 times in Tour de France. Raced in the same team with the biggest stars of Italian peloton in the 80’s such as: Francesco Moser, Roberto Visientini or Giuseppe Saronni. Won 30 professional races, among most important are: Trofeo Baracchi (unofficial world championships in dual TT – together with Lech Piasecki) prologues at Tirreno-Adriatico and Tour de Romandie, stage in Volta Catalunya. Also won Golden Kilometer of Mestre and two Team Time Trials in Giro d'Italia (1986 & 1988).
Sportsman, manager, businessman, sporting activist.
Lang was the first rider from behind „Iron Curtain” to sign Professional contract in the Western Europe. Later owner and president of the Lang Team company. Since 1993 director of the Tour de Pologne and other cycling events such as: Bank BPH Grand Prix MTB, Skandia MTB Maraton and Pomorski Classic. Promotor of Polish road and MTB cycling in the country and abroad. In last 15 years changed TdP from an amateur race to one of the most important professional stage races in international calendar.

Cycling activist
Member of the Committee for the Professional Sport within PZKol (Polish Cycling Federation), Member of the International Union of Organizers of Cycling Races (AIOCC), President of the Society for Professional Cyclists (between 1986 and 1989).
 
Private live – father of Agata (born in 1980) – architect, currently working in Italy
Hobbies: horse riding, hunting, skiing and travels

Tour de Pologne and its director Czesław Lang over the years have gather plenty of prizes for their commitment in organization of sporting events:
Tour de Pologne – three times won the prize for the „Polish Best Sporting Event of the Year” in 1995, 1996 and 2004 – organized by sports daily “Przegląd Sportowy”
- In 1997 director Czesław Lang received „Champion” prize for the promotion of Polish sport
- Also in 1997 Committee of Polish Corporation of Sporting Managers has given Czesław Lang the title of the “Best Sports Manager of the Year”
- Other merits gained by race or its director: „Man of the Sport” for the Czesław Lang in 1999, "Wektor 2003" for the Tour de Pologne from Confederation of Polish Employers, „Best TV Sport Event” in 2003, „Best Sport Event” in 2004 – prize from Days of Sporting Marketing, “Sports Brand” in 2007 – prize from Days of Sporting Marketing, “Manager of the Year” 2007 by daily newspaper "Życie Warszawy" – for the perfection in organization of the Tour de Pologne 2007 start at Teatralny in Warsaw.
