Points of interest

Guido Mine
This museum located in Zabrze is unique in the entire Poland. It brings the visitors deep underground to tunnels as far as 320 metres beneath the surface through to two excellently preserved ancient mining levels. During the tour, the visitors can discover the authentic elevator used in active coal mines, originally preserved stable for the horses – which had a fundamental role in the history of mining – and the large scale mining machines presented in operation. Plus, one can have a beer – brewed by a local brewery – at a subterranea cafe, surrounded by very unique scenery.

Wawel Castle – UNESCO World Heritage Site
This royal residence is located in central Kraków and was one of the first UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world. The castle, being one of the largest in Poland, represents nearly all European architectural styles of medieval, renaissance and baroque periods. It consists of a number of structures from different periods situated around the Italian-styled main courtyard.

For centuries the residence of the kings of Poland and the symbol of Polish statehood, Wawel Castle is now one of the country’s premier art museums. Among the numerous works of art, ceramics, porcelain and furniture, stands out an important collection of Italian Renaissance painting and the largest collection of Ottoman tents in Europe.
