Czesław Lang: Lublin Voivodeship is unique. We will return here again.

Even before we started, I knew that great days were ahead of us. The Lublin Voivodeship is a place where people understand promotion through sport very well and I am very happy that the peloton of the 2022 Tour de Pologne rode through these unique places,” said Czesław Lang, general director of the Lang Team company, organiser of our national race.

A press conference was held in Lublin on Friday, attended by the Moscow Olympic vice-champion and all key local government officials and security services.

Czesław Lang also announced next year’s jubilee edition of the race – Next year we will not come to the Lublin Voivodship, we will take a short break. The next Tour de Pologne will start in the Greaterpoland Voivodeship. The first stage will be Poznań-Poznań. – announced the race director, adding – There must be mountains, there will be a individual time trial, and there’s also no secret that Krakow, which is like Paris for the Tour de France, will appear on the route.

At the end of his speech Czesław Lang also revealed some of his future plans: “Perhaps we will come here to you with another proposal for a race, a one-day classic. We are talking to local authorities about it. We will be building a race like the French, who have Paris-Roubaix. We would like to stay here with the event because it is a fantastic area.

The conference was an opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in organising the stages of TdP 2022, which run through the Lublin Voivodeship. The first stage of the race ended in Lublin, on the second day the riders covered the route from Chelm to Zamosc, and the third stage started in Kraśnik. – It was a beautiful moment, which we could show all over the world, because the race has a television setting at the highest level, and the signal reaches very many countries. This is important because cycling offers a unique opportunity for promotion. We organise the biggest annual event in our part of Europe, and thanks to this, riders from groups of the elite World Tour cycle are on the start line, which generates huge interest. We combine this with promotion and show the world how beautiful Poland is and how fast it is developing. This is an invaluable value and I am glad that our partners, whom I call the ‘Tour de Pologne family’, understand this,” stressed Czesław Lang.
