Warsaw 21st August 2021 – With the 78th edition of the Tour de
\nPologne just days away, Czeslaw Lang reflects on the seven days of
\nracing that have just come to an end, the innovations introduced and the
\nambitions for the future while giving a comprehensive picture of the
\ndirection the race will take.<\/p>\n
“This year we wanted to have a slightly new tour in terms of the
\nroutes,” he explained. “We included new locations which confronted the
\nriders with new challenges, for example the uphill finishes in Che\u0142m
\nand Przemy\u015bl. Poland is a vast territory yet to be discovered, and this
\nyear we ventured into new areas, supported by the institutions and local
\nauthorities, of course, which I would like to thank very much for the
\nsupport and trust they have placed in the Lang Team. We hope it has paid
\noff.”<\/p>\n
Lang also talked about the new technologies introduced this year, which
\nmainly concern the technical aspect and the better experience for
\nathletes and spectators.
\n“We have introduced new technologies, screens and multimedia arrival,
\nin order to constantly improve the experience of a sporting event also
\nfor the spectators, who are back to follow the competition after a
\ndifficult period for the whole world. As for the race, we relied on
\nBoplan and their barriers, specifically designed for sporting events,
\ntested in other international top level races and adopted here in
\nPoland, starting with the ORLEN Nations Grand Prix. Like any change,
\nthis one also required an adaptation – in this case a logistical one –
\nas this protective barrier is very different from the classic fences.
\nFortunately, we have been having Drutex as one of our most loyal
\npartners, at our side for many years. They have also been a real support
\nin the handling of the protections installed on the course before,
\nduring and after the race.\u201d<\/p>\n
Czeslaw Lang and his team have not spared themselves in terms of the
\npassion that has been put into all these months of preparation to end up
\nwith a race designed under the sign of innovation.
\n“The teams and riders came here very motivated and prepared,” he said,
\n“and the tight battles from the first to the last stage showed that. The
\nseventh stage even featured a four-man breakaway that sprinted to the
\nfinish and turned the classification around a bit more. The competition
\nwas fierce and stayed alive right up to the finish where, almost every
\nday, a new rider came out on top. The weather also helped with some
\nbeautiful sunny days. I know the riders and teams were satisfied and I’m
\nreally pleased.”<\/p>\n
During the Tour de Pologne, exactly from 11-15 August, a new edition of
\nthe Tour de Pologne Junior, organised in collaboration with ORLEN Paliwa
\ntook place. The event saw the participation of 250 young athletes, the
\nmaximum number allowed and set by the organisation for this edition, due
\nto the delicate world health situation.
\n\u201cThe Junior Tour is an event we would not want to miss. It includes
\nwomen’s and men’s categories, 13-14 year olds, along with a mixed
\ncategory, females + males, for the 11-12 year olders. It’s really
\nmotivating to see the grit, preparation, sportsmanship, and joy of these
\nyoung riders who take part in the four-day race every year,” explains
\nthe general manager of the Tour de Pologne. “We know how important
\nsport is for growth; discipline, fatigue and goals are all aspects you
\nencounter in everyday life and sport is absolutely the best way to learn
\nthem with fun. This race has produced riders whom we now award at the
\nEuropean or even the World Championships. An absolute satisfaction and
\nevidence that this event must continue.”<\/p>\n
The unstoppable Lang concluded by saying that soon they will start
\nthinking about the 79th edition, taking place from July 30th to August
\n5th. Although most of it has already been planned, there will still be
