During a special TVP Sport program, the route of this year\u2019s 82nd Tour de Pologne was presented. The UCI WorldTour race will take place from August 4\u201310, leading through some of the most beautiful corners of Poland while promising great sporting emotions. The race will begin in Wroc\u0142aw and conclude after 7 days in Wieliczka, where an individual time trial is scheduled.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The organizers of the Tour de Pologne revealed the route of this year\u2019s edition during a special program broadcast on TVP Sport on Friday, June 13. Fans learned the details of the 7-day race, the teams participating, accompanying events, and the various classifications the riders will compete in.<\/p>\n

A Demanding and Picturesque Route<\/strong><\/p>\n

Race Director Czes\u0142aw Lang and the Lang Team have once again prepared an exciting course for the world\u2019s top cyclists. The race will kick off in Wroc\u0142aw, the capital of Lower Silesia. The first stage features a flat route finishing in Legnica, where the first wearer of the yellow ORLEN general classification jersey will be revealed. Along the way, riders will compete for three LOTTO Sprint Primes in K\u0105ty Wroc\u0142awskie, \u015aroda \u015al\u0105ska, and Polkowice, as well as a mountain prime in Prochowice.<\/p>\n

The second day will suit climbers. Starting from the Hotel Go\u0142\u0119biewski Karpacz, riders will face a route full of long and steep climbs, including two categorized ascents to the Kowarska and \u015arednica Passes. Additional challenges include a LOTTO Sprint Prime in Czarny B\u00f3r, Decathlon Special Prime in Che\u0142msko \u015al\u0105skie, and Hotel Seidorf Special Prime in Karpacz. The winner of this intense 150 km stage will be crowned atop the legendary Orlinek in Karpacz, which has seen victories by Alberto Contador and Tim Wellens.<\/p>\n

On day three, the UCI WorldTour peloton will tackle another Lower Silesian stage, starting and finishing in Wa\u0142brzych, Wa\u0142brzych County. This mountainous route includes three climbs over the Walim and Nied\u017awiedzica Passes, a mountain prime in Rzeczka, and a DPD Polska Special Prime in Jedlina-Zdr\u00f3j. Due to the challenging terrain, this will be one of the toughest stages of the race.<\/p>\n

The fourth stage from Rybnik to Cieszyn \u2013\u00a0 partnered with the Archducal Castle Brewery Cieszyn \u2013 will test the riders\u2019 endurance again, featuring a LOTTO Sprint Prime in Jaworze and mountain ascents over Przegibek Pass, Orle Gniazdo, and Salmopol Pass. There will also be special primes from DrWITT and 35 Years of the IMPEL Group. The stage concludes with dynamic laps in Cieszyn, a town where Peter Sagan and Zdenek Stybar have previously triumphed.<\/p>\n

Stage five is another grueling segment \u2013 over 200 kilometers from Katowice to Zakopane. The route features a LOTTO Sprint Prime in Wilamowice \u2013 where Joao Almeida and Matej Mohoric battled for the overall lead two years ago \u2013 along with Decathlon and DPD Special Primes and climbs to Kocierz and Krowiarki Passes. Only the toughest riders will reach the finish in Zakopane at the front! The finale in the heart of the Tatra Mountains is a challenge for the most resilient, as evidenced by the list of winners. Among those who triumphed there are Jonas Vingegaard, Tim Wellens \u2013 who sealed his overall victory in the 2016 Tour de Pologne with this win \u2013 and earlier, world champions like Thor Hushovd and the aforementioned Peter Sagan raised their hands in triumph at this very place. On the stage finishing in Zakopane, the riders will enter the picturesque Lesser Poland Voivodeship, renowned for its stunning mountain landscapes. The race caravan will remain there until the end of the competition.<\/p>\n

The penultimate stage, from BUKOVINA Resort to Bukowina Tatrza\u0144ska, is the traditional \u201cqueen\u201d stage. This 150-km route includes the notoriously steep HARNA\u015a and BUKOVINA walls in Rzepiska and Gliczar\u00f3w, a LOTTO Sprint Prime in Szaflary, and the Soudal Special Prime. The finish on a challenging ascent in Bukowina Tatrza\u0144ska has been won by legends like Remco Evenepoel, Rafa\u0142 Majka, Joao Almeida, Simon Yates, and Matej Mohoric.<\/p>\n

Before the pros hit the road, cycling enthusiasts will tackle the climbs in the ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amateurs on August 9, on the route from BUKOVINA Resort to the Rusin-Ski Station.<\/p>\n

The grand finale of the Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour will be an individual time trial starting and finishing near the \u201cWieliczka\u201d Salt Mine. With a climb at the beginning of the 12.5-km route, it promises dramatic battles right to the end for the yellow jersey. In the past, winners of cycling monuments \u2013 Jacky Durand and Raimondas Rumsas \u2013 triumphed in Wieliczka. Now it’s time for an outstanding time trialist!<\/p>\n

The yellow ORLEN jersey \u2013 the most prestigious prize<\/strong><\/p>\n

Over the 7 days of racing, riders will battle for stage wins and primes, but the ultimate prize is the iconic yellow ORLEN general classification jersey \u2013 a symbol of the Polish race and recognized in global cycling. It has been worn by the likes of Micha\u0142 Kwiatkowski, Rafa\u0142 Majka, Remco Evenepoel and two times Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard.<\/p>\n

Riders will also compete for the LOTTO Most Active Rider classification, mountain, Decathlon Team Classification, and ORLEN VITAY Best Polish Rider.<\/p>\n

World-Class Teams and global coverage<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tour de Pologne will once again welcome the best teams in the world, including UAE Team Emirates-XRG, Visma | Lease a Bike, Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, Soudal-Quick Step, Lidl-Trek, and Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale. The Polish National Team will also participate.<\/p>\n

A world-class start list guarantees an unforgettable spectacle, with full coverage provided by TVP Sport, showcasing every moment from start to finish.<\/p>\n

Eurosport and the MAX streaming platform will broadcast the race to fans in 65 countries, promoting Poland, cycling, and race partners to a global audience.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s not all! Just two days after the conclusion of the men\u2019s race, the three-day Tour de Pologne Women will begin, taking place in the Lublin Voivodeship. Before that, young talents from the youth categories will compete in Tour de Pologne Junior, accompanying the main race at stage finishes in Legnica (4th August), Karpacz (5th August), and Cieszyn (7th August). You cannot miss it!<\/p>\n
