With just over a month to go before the start of the 82nd Tour de Pologne, the race’s start list is already beginning to take shape. One of the key confirmations is the newly crowned French national champion, Dorian Godon of Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale, who has announced his participation in Poland\u2019s most prestigious cycling event.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last week, national road cycling championships took place across most European countries. Riders competed for medals in countries like Poland, where Rafa\u0142 Majka of UAE Team Emirates-XRG won the road race, and Filip Maciejuk of Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe triumphed in the individual time trial.<\/p>\n

Exciting races featuring major stars were also held elsewhere, including in France, where riders battled for the iconic tricolour jersey of national champion. The start list included many WorldTour professionals, with strong representation from top French teams such as Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale, Groupama-FDJ, Cofidis, and Arkea-B&B Hotels. More than 60 WorldTour riders lined up at the start, highlighting the fierce level of competition.<\/p>\n

On a hilly course, the riders fought a gruelling battle that ended with an attritional sprint finish. Dorian Godon emerged victorious, earning the biggest win of his professional career and claiming the prestigious French national champion\u2019s jersey \u2013 which he will showcase\u2026 in Poland, during the 82nd Tour de Pologne. The newly crowned French champion has decided to skip the Tour de France and instead focus on other targets.<\/p>\n

Godon is a rider known for his strength in one-day races and reduced group sprints. His palmar\u00e8s<\/em> includes victories in the Brabantse Pijl and two stage wins at the Tour de Romandie \u2013 a race that, like the Tour de Pologne, is part of the UCI WorldTour. He has also won the overall classification of the French Cup series.<\/p>\n

This year, he\u2019ll have the chance to expand his list of achievements with stage wins, or perhaps even a shot at the ORLEN general classification the Main Sponsor of the 82nd Tour de Pologne. He will undoubtedly be highly motivated to proudly represent his country in the champion\u2019s jersey.<\/p>\n

The 82nd Tour de Pologne kicks off on August 4 in Wroc\u0142aw and finishes on August 10 in Wieliczka. The race is one of 15 stage events in the prestigious UCI WorldTour. Coverage will be broadcast by TVP Sport, Eurosport, and the streaming platform MAX, reaching fans in 65 countries around the world.<\/p>\n
