The 82nd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour rolls into Cieszyn today \u2013 a border town etched in the history of the Polish race. Among those who triumphed here are Peter Sagan and Zdenek \u0160tybar. Who will join their ranks today?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The colorful caravan of the 82nd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour has left Lower Silesia. Stage 4 of this year\u2019s edition will take place on a scenic route from Rybnik to Cieszyn, where the climbs of the Beskid Mountains could play a decisive role. The peloton sets off from Rybnik and will cover the first several dozen kilometers on flat terrain.<\/p>\n<p>After 68 kilometers, the riders will sprint for points at the LOTTO Intermediate Sprint in Jaworze. Shortly after, the first climbs begin. In less than 50 kilometers, three PZU Mountain Primes await: Przegibek Pass (Category I), Orle Gniazdo (Category II) \u2013 once the finish of a Tour de Pologne stage \u2013 and Salmopol Pass (Category I). Expect a fierce battle for PZU Best Climber points and attempts to wear down the pure sprinters.<\/p>\n<p>After the descent from Salmopol Pass, riders will contest the DrWITT Special Sprint in Wis\u0142a and the \u201c35 Years of Impel Group\u201d Special Sprint in Ustro\u0144. Not long after, they\u2019ll arrive in Cieszyn to take on four spectacular finishing laps, running alongside the Olza River, past the Cieszyn Castle and the Archduke Castle Brewery Cieszyn \u2013 a Partner of Stage 4 of the 82nd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour.<\/p>\n<p>The Polish race has often passed through or finished in Cieszyn, with former winners including Peter Sagan and Zdenek \u0160tybar \u2013 both three-time world champions, respectively in road and cyclocross. Today\u2019s favorites will likely come from the ranks of powerful sprinters with strong endurance. All eyes should be on Paul Magnier of T-Rex Quick-Step \u2013 a talented classics rider with impressive resilience and finishing speed. The Frenchman took second on Stage 1 and will be eager to go one better today.<\/p>\n<p>Team Visma | Lease a Bike won\u2019t back down either, featuring Olav Kooij \u2013 although their leader for today might be Matthew Brennan, a talented Brit with 10 wins this season on the UCI calendar. This kind of finish also suits riders like Ethan Vernon (Israel-Premier Tech) and Marijn van den Berg (EF Education\u2013EasyPost). The Dutchman previously won a Tour de Pologne stage that finished in nearby Bielsko-Bia\u0142a, making him one of the top contenders for today.<\/p>\n<p>Watch out as well for sprinters who were at the front on Stage 1, including Poland\u2019s Stanis\u0142aw Anio\u0142kowski (Cofidis), and riders from the front group on yesterday\u2019s stage, won by Ben Turner (INEOS Grenadiers).<\/p>\n<p>Paul Lapeira (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) will start today\u2019s stage in the ORLEN General Classification leader\u2019s jersey, followed by Victor Langelotti (INEOS Grenadiers) and Jan Christen (UAE Team Emirates-XRG).<\/p>\n<p>The stage begins in Rybnik at 11:40 A.M., with the finish expected around 4:30 P.M.
