The second stage of the 81st Tour de Pologne will be an opportunity for a rematch after the first segment of the national tour. The colorful race caravan will remain around Karpacz and Orlinek, where the finish line will again be located – this time for an individual time trial.

This iconic time trial stage returns to the Tour de Pologne. In the past, the stage with the finish on Orlinek was won by, among others, Alberto Contador, for whom it was his first professional victory. Later, the Spaniard triumphed in the general classifications of all the grand tours.

The 15-kilometer time trial route will be demanding – riders will start in Mysłakowice, then face a flat section followed by a climb up Orlinek. It will be a treat for fans who will be able to cheer on their favorite riders up close.

The time trial stage will be tailored for cyclists specializing in this discipline but also for those who feel good in mountainous terrain.

“We stay in Karpacz, on Orlinek. The time trial will be on a 15-kilometer route. We will start in Mysłakowice, not entering Karpacz directly but going around it. It will be a nice climb, a cronoscalata (from Italian: ‘climb against the clock’). We remember that Alberto Contador started his career here, winning such an individual time trial,” said Czesław Lang.

Riders will start the individual time trial every minute, and the top ten in the general classification will compete in two-minute intervals.
