The almost 199-kilometre-long stage will be typically mountainous, with an elevation of more than 3,000 metres. The riders will set off from Pszczyna and arrive in Bielsko-Biała, which already hosted the Tour de Pologne in the past. Before that, they will have to overcome several difficult climbs. Along the route of stage 5 there are three LOTTO Intermediate Sprints: Ustroń, Istebna and Wilkowice, two PZU KOM 1st cat.: Ochodzita and Salmopol. The latter KOM is named after Joachim Halupczok, Polish olympic medalist from 1988 and there is also a PZU KOM 2nd category located in Zameczek (the Little Castle).
