It appears that only on the fourth day of the 81st Tour de Pologne will sprinters get their chance for a stage win. The stage from Park Zdrojowy in Kudowa-Zdrój to Prudnik will be flat, although it will paradoxically start with a few kilometers of an uncategorized climb.

On the 195-kilometer route, there will be three LOTTO sprint bonuses – in Bystrzyca Kłodzka, Ząbkowice Śląskie, and Otmuchów – which will certainly attract riders competing for the blue jersey of the active rider. Points for the PZU mountain classification will also be up for grabs, thanks to the II category KOM at Jaworowa Pass. In the later part of the stage, there will be no climbs capable of splitting the peloton, so we can expect the fastest riders in the field to battle for the win in Prudnik.

“The fourth stage will be dedicated to the great cyclist and my dear friend Stasiek Szozda, as we will finish in Prudnik, where he was born and lived. We start from Kudowa-Zdrój, over 200 kilometers – I think it will be a more sprinter-oriented stage, and the entire peloton will arrive together,” said Czesław Lang, General Director of the Tour de Pologne.

The stage and finish in Prudnik will be dedicated to the memory of Stanisław Szozda. The outstanding Polish cyclist, Olympic and World Championship medalist, winner of the Tour de Pologne and the Peace Race, was born in Prudnik.
