– I am very happy and touched by this unique initiative. The Tour de Pologne is an event that attracts millions of fans in Poland, it is a brand recognizable outside the country, where we effectively promote our homeland through the sport. The postage stamp with the anniversary logo of the race is another opportunity to promote the race and to celebrate the 95th birthday of the event, which was held for the first time in 1928, but above all, it is really a very special distinction,” said Czeslaw Lang, organizer of the Tour de Pologne.
– 80 editions of the Tour de Pologne, including this year’s, is a fact worthy of commemoration. I am glad that the Polish Post has decided to do this in a unique way, namely on a postage stamp. – said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin. – I sincerely congratulate the Polish Post on this stamp, which recalls the great achievements of cycling, the almost 100-year history of the largest cycling event we have achieved in the history of our independence after 1918. This is a beautiful initiative.
– In our philatelic issues, we try to commemorate and honor important events in the history of the motherland. – said during the presentation the President of the Board of Directors of the Polish Post, Krzysztof Falkowski, and added – We want to commemorate the special participants and organizers of the Tour de Pologne in this way.
The 80th Tour de Pologne issue stamp has been in official circulation since May 31 at 12:00 pm.
