The Tour de Pologne starts in just a week!

Exactly in 7 days, the unique 80th anniversary Tour de Pologne will begin, at the starting line we can expect Rafal Majka, Michal Kwiatkowski, as well as the winners of the previous years – Joao Almeida, Tim Wellens and Pavel Sivakov. In this year’s Tour de Pologne cycling race, a record number of 17 Poles are likely to take part.

On July 29, the 80th Tour de Pologne, which celebrates its 95th birthday this year, will begin at the grounds of the Poznań International Fair. After riding more than 180 kilometers in the Wielkopolska Voivodeship, the riders will finish at the Automobil Klub race track in Poznań. The next stages are Leszno-Karpacz, Walbrzych-Duszniki-Zdrój, Strzelin-Opole, Pszczyna-Bielsko-Biala, an ITT in Katowice and the final stage from Zabrze to Krakow, which will take place on August 4. 

Along the route of the race, riders from the best cycling teams in the world will fight for the yellow jersey of the ORLEN general classification, the jersey of the PZU best climber, the best sprinter Energa and the most active rider LOTTO. The stage winner’s bonus will be sponsored by Drutex, and KGHM has become the sponsor of the best team classification.  

– This is a very important edition of the race for us. We are celebrating the birthday of the Tour de Pologne and the 80th edition. This year is also the 30th anniversary since I am responsible for the organization of this great event. The world’s top riders will come to Poland, including several winners from previous years. I am also happy about the participation of Rafał Majka and Michal Kwiatkowski, who are in really great shape. It promises to be a really fierce battle and a great sporting spectacle, plus a great promotion of our beautiful Poland around the world. – announces the general director of the race, Czesław Lang.

In addition to the Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour, there will be the accompanying races. The Tour de Pologne Junior, consisting of four stages (Poznań 29.07, Bielsko-Biała 2.08, Katowice 3.08, Kraków 4.08). This is a race organized for young cycling adepts. All amateur cyclists are invited on 30.07 to Karpacz for the ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amatorów, where a beautiful and challenging route and great prizes have been prepared.
