Czesław Lang announces Prudnik to host stage 4 finish

– I can already announce today with great joy another very important point on the map of this year’s Tour de Pologne route. The town of Prudnik will host the finish line of the fourth stage. I would like to thank Mayor Grzegorz Zawiślak for his interest in the race. Together we will work together to exploit the promotional potential of the Tour de Pologne.

During a press conference at the Prudnik Cultural Centre, Czesław Lang announced the next host of this year’s 81st Tour de Pologne. Prudnik, a picturesque town and one of the oldest in Poland, joins the ranks of cities in the Opolskie Voivodeship. It is in Prudnik that Czesław Lang will organise the finish line of the fourth stage.

In addition to Czesław Lang, the mayor of Prudnik, Grzegorz Zawiślak, also spoke at the meeting – Something impossible is possible in Prudnik, something that was improbable is probable, we prove once again that we cross borders…. And what is going to happen will be the best promotion of Prudnik, for years and certainly for many years to come,” said the city’s mayor.

The town’s convenient location makes Prudnik a base in the Polish-Czech borderland. It is no coincidence that it is from here that cyclists set off to conquer the most beautiful mountains and hills of the Eastern Sudetes. The special role of cycling tourism and cycling in Prudnik is the result of tradition. From the Prudnik region come the champions of Polish cycling: Stanisław Szozda and Franciszek Surmiński. Prudnik is a town rich in tourist attractions. Visitors can walk a specially designed Town Trail of nearly five kilometres in length. This will allow them to discover medieval monuments such as the Wok Tower or the classicist Town Hall, as well as the Baroque St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church.

The cards for this year’s Tour de Pologne are slowly being revealed. Yesterday, the start of the edition in Wrocław was announced, where the cyclists will set off on the route from under the Centennial Hall on 12 August. The day before, the official presentation of the teams in the same location. The 81st Tour de Pologne will run from 12 to 18 August 2024.
