Agata Lang-Lelangue honored with the prestigious UCI Merit Award!

On a rest day from the World Championships competition in Montreal, the 195th Congress of the Union Cycliste Internationale took place. Agata Lang-Lelangue took part in it and was honored with the prestigious UCI Merit Award for her contribution to the development of the discipline in Poland and on the international arena!

Canadian Montreal has become the heart of cycling events for a few days. On the occasion of the Road World Championships taking place in North America, the 195th Congress of the Union Cycliste Internationale was held in Canada, attended by cycling active members from all over the world, including Agata Lang-Lelangue – Member of the UCI Management Committee and the UCI Professional Cycling Council, as well as Deputy General Director of Lang Team.

During the UCI Congress, a number of decisions regarding the development of the discipline in the coming years were made. The Congress also awarded 5 prestigious UCI Merit Awards, honoring individuals with an exceptional contribution to the development of cycling.

Among them was Agata Lang-Lelangue. In the official communique of the UCI, we read that the distinction is thanks to “deep committment to promoting major cycling events in Poland, notably the organisation of the 2010 UEC European Track Championships and the Orlen Nations Grand Prix, a stage race for Under-23 riders. As Vice-President of the Tour de Pologne, she played a key role in relaunching the Tour de Pologne Women“.

Congratulations to all 5 honored individuals were also extended by the President of the UCI, David Lappartient.
