On April 21, 2026, a special event was held at the Czesław Lang Primary School in Kołczygłowy, dedicated to the presentation of the Czesław Lang SECTOR and the Special Prize named in his honor, both of which will be part of the route of the first stage of the 83rd edition of the race.

The meeting is part of the intensive preparations for this year’s Tour de Pologne, particularly for Stage 1, which will start in Gdynia and, after 240 km, finish in Koszalin, passing through the hometown region of Czesław Lang.

The conference gathered a wide range of guests representing local governments, regional institutions, the educational and sports communities, media, and public services. Among those were the Mayor of Kołczygłowy Municipality, Artur Kalinowski; the Headmaster of the Czesław Lang Primary School in Kołczygłowy, Krzysztof Stępień; representatives of the Marshal’s Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship; a representative of the Pomeranian Voivode; the Honorary Consul of France and Tour de Pologne ambassador Alain Mompert; and former professional cyclist Tomasz Marczyński. A particularly distinguished guest was Czesław Lang himself – the director of the Tour de Pologne, the school’s patron, and the initiator of the event.

In the second part of the event, students were treated to a special surprise. A ceremonial presentation of the school’s new logo, funded by Czesław and Elżbieta Lang, took place. During the ceremony, the symbolism of the emblem and the history of its creation were presented, followed by the official unveiling of the school’s crest.

The event highlights the strong ties between the region and cycling, as well as the importance of the Tour de Pologne in promoting local communities and their heritage.

The Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour is one of the most important events in the cycling calendar and the largest race in this part of Europe. Each year, the world’s best teams come to Poland to compete for stage victories as well as for success in individual classifications, including the ORLEN General Classification. The 83rd edition of the race will take place from August 3 to 9. The competition will be broadcast on TVP Sport, TVP1, Eurosport, and the HBO Max streaming platform.
