Polish riders the preliminary start list of the 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour

Next Monday, the 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour will kick off from Gdynia. Alongside foreign stars of world cycling, we will also see Poles at the start. The preliminary start list includes the names of Michał Kwiatkowski, Filip Maciejuk and Kamil Małecki, as well as the Polish national team.

A few days remain until the start of the 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour – the largest cycling event in the region. This year’s edition of the race will take place from August 3-9 on the route from Gdynia to the “Wieliczka” Salt Mine, and traditionally, the world’s best teams will appear at the start.

There will also be no shortage of Polish cyclists, who, as every year, will appear on the route of their home race. The Polish national team has once again received an invitation to participate in the event, and its roster is expected to include Marceli Bogusławski, Jakub Kaczmarek, Tobiasz Pawlak, Patryk Stosz, Norbert Banaszek, Filip Gruszczyński and Radosław Frątczak.

The White-and-Reds will also appear in the squads of foreign UCI WorldTour and UCI ProTeams. Among the cyclists announced for the start of the 83rd Tour de Pologne is Michał Kwiatkowski, representing Netcompany INEOS, who finished competing in the Tour de France on Sunday. “Kwiato” won the general classification of the Tour de Pologne in 2018, and also has 2 stage wins to his name.

On the route, we will also see Filip Maciejuk from Movistar Team, a two-time elite Polish champion in the individual time trial, who has been racing in the colors of the Spanish team since this season. Kamil Małecki from the Pinarello-Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team is also on the preliminary start list of the race. The cyclist born in Bytów, through which the peloton of the 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour will pass, took 6th place in the general classification in 2020.

This year’s 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour will be held under the slogan “North-South”. The race will be broadcast on Telewizja Polska, Eurosport, and the HBO Max streaming platform, meaning the signal from the route will reach fans in 65 countries.
