Jonathan Milan will start in the 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour

Next Monday marks the start of the 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour, which will once again attract the stars of world cycling to the starting line. One of them will be Jonathan Milan from the Lidl-Trek team. The Italian is the current national road race champion, and this year he has claimed stage victories in the Giro d’Italia, Tirreno-Adriatico, and the UAE Tour.

The start list for the 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour, which begins on August 3rd, is taking shape. As befits a top-tier race, the world’s leading teams will traditionally come to Poland along with cyclists who have triumphs in major events under their belts.

One of them is Jonathan Milan from the Lidl-Trek team, who was included in Lidl-Trek’s latest roster for the Tour de Pologne. The Italian competed in the Polish race in 2022, when he finished in 3rd place twice. In recent years, he has made tremendous progress, permanently establishing himself among the world’s top sprinters.

His rich palmarès includes, among others, 5 stage wins at the Giro d’Italia, 2 scalps from the Tour de France, and jerseys for winning the points classifications in both grand tours. Milan has also won at Tirreno-Adriatico, the UAE Tour, and the Renewi Tour, and recently he claimed victory in the Italian National Championships. He will present the characteristic tricolor jersey for the first time on the route of the 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour.

In the final stretches of the stages, Milan will be able to count on the help of Edward Theuns and Simone Consonni. The Lidl-Trek team will also fight for top places in the ORLEN General Classification. The squad includes Matteo Sobrero – the third-placed rider of last year’s edition, as well as the dynamic Andrea Bagioli and Lennard Kämna. The seven-man lineup is completed by Jacopo Mosca.

The race will take place from August 3-9 on the route from Gdynia to the “Wieliczka” Salt Mine. On the eve of the start of the competition, the riders will be presented on the ORP “Błyskawica” ship in the Port of Gdynia. The competition will be broadcast on TVP and Eurosport channels, as well as on the HBO Max streaming platform, thus reaching fans from 65 countries
