Opening of Stage 1 of the 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour aboard the ORP “Błyskawica”

After over 20 years, the Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour is returning to Gdynia. On Monday, May 11, a press conference inaugurating Stage 1 of the 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour was held aboard the ORP “Błyskawica”. This year’s edition of Poland’s national tour, organized under the slogan “North–South,” will begin on August 3, with the opening stage covering 234 kilometers from Gdynia to Koszalin.

The event was attended by representatives of local governments, uniformed services, race partners, as well as national and regional media. The presentation was opened by Tour de Pologne General Director Czesław Lang, who emphasized the special significance of starting the race in Gdynia — a city celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and one that has long been closely connected with Polish sport.

Representatives of the Polish Navy, the Polish Naval Academy, the Gdynia Maritime University, the Port of Gdynia, the Police, and the State Fire Service responsible for securing the race were also present.

During the conference, this year’s intermediate LOTTO sprints in Kartuzy, Bytów, and Polanów were unveiled, along with special bonuses in Parchowo, Kołczygłowy — the Czesław Lang Special Bonus — and Kępice, the “Słupsk County Governor’s Special Bonus,” as well as the first mountain prime at Góra Chełmska.

Pomerania has always been an important part of the history of the Tour de Pologne and of my personal story. I’m happy that we will begin the 83rd edition of the race right here. The route of the opening stage will be demanding, spectacular, and will showcase the beauty of the region to fans in Poland and around the world,” said Czesław Lang.

One of the key moments of the event was the official signing of the agreement with the Marshal’s Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, represented by Agnieszka Baranowska.

The 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour will take place from August 3–9, 2026. The official team presentation is scheduled for August 2 in Gdynia. One day later, the world’s best cyclists will start from Kościuszko Square for the opening stage to Koszalin. Fans will be able to follow the race on TVP Sport, TVP1, Eurosport, and the streaming platform HBO Max.
