PZU is the Official Sponsor of the 78th Tour de Pologne

The largest Polish insurer also sponsors the PZU Tour de Pologne Best climber classification.

The most important cycling event in Poland will start on August 9 in Lublin and end on August 15 in Błonia Park in Krakow.

‘The Tour de Pologne is one of the most famous stage races in the world. This is the cycling “Champions League”. The race has a long and wonderful history, it perfectly promotes the beauty of our country in the world and arouses great interest, not only among the cycling fans. I am glad that we are part of this history for another year in a row – says the president of PZU, Dr. Beata Kozłowska-Chyła.

Just like last year, the largest Polish insurer is both the Official Sponsor of the race and the PZU Tour de Pologne Best climber jersey. The mountain classification is one of the most important competitions during any cycling race.

Last year, Patryk Stosz was the leader of the PZU climbing classification at the end of the 77th Tour de Pologne. The Pole put on the climbers’ most coveted jersey after stage 4 and retained it back until the finish line in Krakow.

– I am proud that a brand such as PZU is in the family of Tour de Pologne partners. For years, we have been trying to prepare the event at the highest world level, and this is possible thanks to the support of such exceptional sponsors. The mountain classification, once again under the patronage of PZU, is very important for all the teams, and I am convinced that many will fight for it until the very end – says Czesław Lang, general director of Tour de Pologne.

This year’s race route features 1,140 km with 16 mountain bonuses awaiting for the best competitors from around the world, including the Krowiarki Pass, Przegibek and the Kocierz Pass as the highest category climbs. To know who will turn out to be the king of the Polish mountains this year, we’ll need to follow the entire competition till August 15 on Blonia in Krakow.

The first Tour de Pologne dates to 1928 and was actually the very first cycling tour around Poland. Over the years, the importance of the event has grown and the Tour de Pologne has joined the World Tour calendar, i.e. the most important cycling events, such as Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a Espana. This year there will be competitors coming from the best teams in the world along with the Polish national team.

For years, the PZU Group has been committed to supporting sport, both competitive and amateur. As the Main Sponsor, we help in the career of the best Polish tennis player Iga Świątek – the winner of Roland Garros in 2020. PZU also supports Amp Futbol Polska, i.e. the Polish National Team in Amp Futbol, Amp Futbol Ekstraklasa and the youngest players from Junior Amp Futbol and from Futbolowa Bandy. At the beginning of June, the PZU Dobra Drużyna program was launched, under which financial support will be provided to schools and other amateur clubs and sports teams.
