Polish National Team Roster for the 82nd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour!

The Polish Cycling Federation has announced the 7-man squad that will represent Poland from August 4 to 10 in the 82nd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour. For riders from continental teams, this will be the only opportunity this season to compete at this level.

Just days before the start of this year’s edition of the Tour de Pologne, the Polish national team roster was unveiled. Once again, the team will take part in the only UCI WorldTour race in this part of Europe. The national squad was granted a wildcard by the organizers, allowing them to race.

As with the top-tier UCI WorldTour teams, the Polish lineup will include 7 riders. National team coach Andrzej Sypytkowski – Olympic silver medalist from Seoul – selected Paweł Bernas, Mateusz Gajdulewicz, Michał Pomorski (all from Mazowsze Serce Polski), Marcin Budziński, Piotr Pękala (ATT Investments), as well as Tomasz Budziński and Patryk Stosz (Voster ATS Team).

Paweł Bernas and Mateusz Gajdulewicz impressed at the Polish National Championships in Dobczyce this June, taking silver and bronze in the elite road race – behind only Rafał Majka. Their teammate Michał Pomorski won a stage at the Tour of Mazovia and finished 2nd overall in Course Cycliste „Solidarność” et des Champions Olympiques.

Piotr Pękala and Marcin Budziński, both from the Czech-based ATT Investments, specialize in mountainous terrain, as proven in races like the Tour of Austria, the Tour of Malopolska, and various 2nd category events in Croatia and Greece. Both riders, like Bernas, have prior Tour de Pologne experience – and Marcin Budziński even finished in the top 10 on a stage two years ago.

Also representing the national team will be Tomasz Budziński and Patryk Stosz from Voster ATS Team. In 2023, Stosz earned the blue jersey for winning the LOTTO Most Active Rider Classification. Both of them achieved top places in various UCI races this season.

“Once again, the Polish national team will take part in the Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour and bring great joy to Polish fans. For continental riders, this is a unique opportunity to showcase themselves alongside the world’s top teams. I’m confident the White-and-Reds will race aggressively and proudly represent our colors” said Czesław Lang, General Director of the 82nd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour.

The race will take place from August 4 to 10, starting in Wrocław and finishing near the “Wieliczka” Salt Mine, where the overall winner will be decided in an individual time trial. The event will be broadcast on TVP, Eurosport and the streaming platform MAX, reaching fans in 65 countries.
